I taught a wide range of ages and abilities in Detroit’s Quaker School. I was responsible for the evaluation and assessment of children’s progress; revised and edited school-wide reports; and implemented the school’s Conflict Resolution, Peer Mediation and Gardening programmes. Other highlights:
As Faculty Clerk, I acted as liaison between staff and the head teacher; organised and chaired weekly staff meetings; designed and arranged in-service training; and supervised the professional development of 22 teachers.
I acted as mediator among staff, was mentor and advisor for new incoming teachers, and organised and chaired parent education meetings.
I wrote well-regarded reports and evaluations, and chaired school meetings;
As Geography Co-coordinator I mobilised children and parents to revitalise a pond and multisensory garden.
